otto's newest milestone!

it definately wasn't an easy task, but i did managed to get a snap shot of the very beginnings of otto's very FIRST tooth. it was especially challenging since i had to get close enough where he could reach the camera cord and every time i was about to snap a picture he would forcefully tug on it!! but at least the road getting there has landed me with some pretty hilarious pictures. jacob actually though the whole process was pretty amusing! he giggled through the whole thing!

so yesterday was the 6 months booster shot time for otto, which of course means he got weighed again. so he is 13lbs and 6.5 ounces....again jacob was 14 lbs @ 3 MONTHS!!!! although what is strange now considering i was convinced he was going to have short legs (well i guess he still can ) is that pants i try to put on him that are 3 to 6 months are way to big at the waste but only go to his ankles!?!?!? i will post pictures of my unique little wonder soon....

i didn't even have to bring out the big guns!!!

3 days after he left, (well not counting the endless weeping before, and the full hearted desire to turn around by cash creek), francis couldn't hack the harsh reality of life without us, has come to his senses, and decided to COME HOME!!!! well either that, or it's as long as he could handle his truck being dirty!!! (it is not only super dusty in fort st. john, but it could be Chicago's twin city for being constantly windy. and this, of course, is before the slush and salt in the winter, the mud in the spring and then the dust... well you get the picture! )lucky for him though, some great people at a crane company he knows, where a lot of the jobs entail working on movies , like fantastic four etc.... have agreed to employ his very confused self, even though he turned them down just days before he left in pursuit of his GLORY CAREER. which,... has landed him in a weeks worth of camp, in fort mcmurray! with all the non smoking rooms taken. even though he wouldn't have appreciated the job he is going to quite as much without enduring this hardship, i actually kinda feel sorry for him, especially since not only is he in camp in fort mcmurray, but they flew him there, which means he is truck-less which in turn means he is stuck there. on top of it, if the smoked filled room with yellow sheets and a family you miss miles away isn't enough to keep you awake, there is also a gun that goes off, every ( i am not sure how frequently ), to scare away animals from some big sces(no idea how to spell that) pool they created by all the oil gathering they do, which apparently is good for nothing, but being incredibly annoying as it seems a moose ended up in there anyways!.... being the GREAT NATURE PRESERVERS that they are up there, they attempted to SAVE this poor animal by shooting it with a dart in an alien encounter like matter, but ,the (i am sure traumatized ) moose , "fell asleep" before he could make it out of the water and ended up DROWNING!!!!! sad i am sure to leave all the excitement, and the almost unbeatable urge to smoke since after being in a smoke filled environment he now has full blown withdrawals (which in francis' case means he is completely unbearable) he should be home by friday!!!

jacob actually got a whole piece of tile out with just a hammer, no real shock though and he was quite good with the impact gun as well. i don't think francis could have done it without him.

we laid the middle tiles at night in the hopes it would dry pretty good by morning (the easiest way to keep jacob off it is when he is sleeping) but the pre mix mortar didn't dry for like 2 weeks, it ended up wrecking like 5 tiles.








in the end a weekend project turned into like a month but i really like how it turned out. ...and now i am supposed to move to fort st. john?!! awe noh.

all alone,(well not really)

Francis left for fort st. john at like 6:30 this morning and won't be back until halloween. that is like a month and a half of single mom hood!!! we'll see if i make it. since there are no houses worth buying and the only place we would consider renting and living in up there has a 6 month waiting list, i will just stay here with the kids until francis comes to his senses and comes home or by miracle we find a house that would make me move up there. (not likely). although now we have some nice renovation cost to pay off since the sale of our house was going to pay for that. YEY, other than that right before francis had to leave he cracked our toilet trying to get a 25 year old bolt off so he can change the cracked toilet seat, so after a lot of epoxy it still kinda trickles. in an attempt to clean the tiles in the bathroom with high pressure steam he knocked more grout out then dirt off so i think a bathroom reno is now inevitable! too bad francis is like 1200kms away so he can't do it. can't tell you how excited he was about having to paint the kitchen when he comes home for a week since we never managed to squeeze that in this time, although our hallway looks immaculate now. pictures coming soon.

francis the BIG CHEESE!!!

so two weekends ago we started to retile the hallway. after francis in an attempt to cheep out on tile held up production for like two weeks we finally decided on some brown marble and actually started putting it down. it looks really awesome. now the not so good news. it looks like we are moving..... to fort st. john. francis got a job as a crane rigging supervisor, which means he will get to be the boss!, at work at least! so now the house is in complete shambles as we now started a complete overhaul of the place in an attempt to finish all the renovations so we can prepare the house for sale.

than off to fort st. john for a week.

.... so we are back! fort st john hasn't changed a bit in the sense that it still has nothing and is still in the middle of nowhere. we did a 3 day hardcore house hunt which resulted in us almost buying a beater house that would have given us less space then our townhouse with the basement being rented out to francis' brother and girlfriend for 284,000.00!!!! we bailed out the last minute and were both very relieved we did. and this is not some beautiful house on an acreage but a little old school house in town. at least in the good part of town if there is one. there are absolutely no houses for sale and the few that are, are complete dumps almost unlivable all though we saw kids playrooms down in basements i wouldn't let william and tanya live( francis' brother and girlfriend) the new houses are all literally on top of each other ( this really puzzles me since you are like a thousand kilometers in the middle of nowhere as stated before) and only like ten houses in the whole place actually have trees in the back yard and just in general all the houses are just neglected hardcore.so it's kinda good news because it looks like i won't be moving anywhere for a while and will get to live in my newly remodeled townhouse in vancouver!!! the bad news.... it will be by myself (well and the kids, and the dog) but sans francis!!! so sarah if you are bored i can always use some company, or any one else.
